Installation Project
The Arthouse Installation Project started with an idea during morning coffee!
We decided to provide a space for installation artists to exhibit their work, to encourage the link between art and architecture and to emphasise these opportunities in Nelson.
Entries have been invited from artists throughout New Zealand. Each year, 2 artists will be chosen to exhibit.
Our first year saw two fantastic installations. The first from Serene Thain of Auckland and the second, which is currently available for viewing, from Nic Moon of Nelson.
Preparations for the second year are well under way. Many high quality submissions were received from around the country. Judging has taken place for the 2011/12 year and we are happy to announce this year’s successful entries:
Jessica Pearless, from Auckland, will exhibit from November to April.
Luke Mills & Michaela Morris, from Wellington, will exhibit from May to October.
The prize money has been generously provided by Nelson art philanthropist, Sally Hunt, patron of the project, and by Arthouse Architecture. We also wish to thank Creative Communities NZ for their support.
